What is Roasted Buckwheat?

Roasted buckwheat is buckwheat groats that have been gently toasted, giving them a deeper flavour, darker colour and pleasantly firm texture. It cooks much like rice and can be served in bowls, salads, soups, sides or porridge.

Is buckwheat a type of wheat?

No. Despite its name, buckwheat is not related to wheat. It is the seed of a flowering plant and is cooked and enjoyed much like a grain. Please note that E&A Buckwheat may contain traces of gluten due to handling and packing.

What does buckwheat taste like?

Roasted buckwheat has a deep, nutty flavour with a gentle earthiness and a slightly toasted aroma. Its mild savoury taste pairs well with vegetables, protein, sauces, herbs and both sweet and savoury recipes.

How do I cook buckwheat

Add one part buckwheat to two parts water. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed. If you prefer less al dente, simply add more water. After Remove from the heat, season to your taste, for example, with a little salt and butter, and serve with your favourite food. As a guide, allow around 70 g of dry buckwheat per person.

How many servings are in one jar?

Each 800 g jar provides approximately 11 servings, based on a recommended portion of around 70 g of dry buckwheat per person.

Buckwheat itself is naturally gluten-free. However, E&A Buckwheat may contain traces of gluten due to handling and packing, which is why our packaging states “may contain traces of gluten”.

Where is buckwheat sourced and produced?

E&A buckwheat is sourced either from Anna’s farm in Ukraine or from other fantastic producers in Ukraine or Europe. Selected for its quality, flavour, and consistency. It’s then carefully prepared and packed in Ukraine before reaching you.

How should Buckwheat be stored?

Store roasted buckwheat in a cool, dry place away from heat and moisture. After opening, keep it tightly sealed or in an airtight container to maintain freshness. No refrigeration is required.

When will my order arrive?

Orders are only processed on working days. Orders are dispatched same day if ordered before 2pm otherwise the next working day. Delivery speed is 48 hours or 24 hours. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been sent. Delivery times may be slightly longer during weekends, bank holidays and particularly busy periods.

How much does delivery cost?

What is the returns policy?
